1. Packaging and Pre-Shipment Inspection

a. Styrofoam Packaging

We use high-quality styrofoam wine shipping boxes engineered to protect bottles during transit. These boxes are designed to:

  • Minimize movement, shocks, and vibrations.
  • Safeguard the integrity of the wine. We make every effort to ensure wines are securely packaged before leaving our Hong Kong warehouse.

b. Pre-Shipment Inspection

Before dispatch, we conduct thorough inspections to confirm:

  • All bottles are in excellent condition.
  • Packaging meets our high standards. Any defects identified prior to shipment will be addressed by Rapture Fine Wines.

2. International Shipping and Risk of Loss

a. Transfer of Risk

  • Wines are shipped from our Hong Kong warehouse using trusted carriers such as DHL or FedEx.
  • For client-designated third-party carriers, we deliver wines to the carrier’s Hong Kong address.
  • Once the order is handed over to the carrier, the risk of loss, damage, or deterioration transfers to the client.
  • Rapture Fine Wines is not liable for any loss, damage, or breakage during transit.

b. Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance to protect against risks during transit.

3. Customs Clearance

a. Responsibility for Customs

  • Clients are responsible for consulting local authorities regarding import regulations and tax obligations.
  • Shipping fees cover only the cost of the bottle and standard delivery charges, excluding insurance, taxes, duties, or additional transportation risks.
  • Rapture Fine Wines provides necessary customs documentation but is not liable for delays, seizures, or additional costs arising from customs processes.
  • If clients fail to settle taxes or provide required documentation by the customs clearance deadline, wines may be retained by customs authorities, and no refunds or exchanges will be provided.

b. Non-Delivery Due to Customs

If an order is held, returned, or destroyed by customs due to non-compliance or unpaid duties/taxes, Rapture Fine Wines is not liable for refunds or replacements.

4. Weather and Environmental Conditions

a. No Liability for Weather-Related Damage

Despite our protective styrofoam packaging, Rapture Fine Wines is not responsible for damage caused by:

  • Extreme heat, freezing temperatures, or humidity during transit. Clients should consider weather conditions at the destination and during transit when arranging international shipping.

b. Shipping Restrictions

  • We reserve the right to delay or suspend shipping during extreme weather to protect wine quality.
  • Clients will be notified of delays, but Rapture Fine Wines assumes no liability for such delays.
  • For shipments to tropical areas, we strongly recommend consulting with us to arrange suitable international shipping services.

5. Claims and Refunds

a. No Refunds Post-Shipment

  • Once wines are dispatched from our Hong Kong warehouse, no refunds or replacements will be provided for loss, damage, or deterioration, except in cases of errors by Rapture Fine Wines prior to shipment (e.g., defective packaging).

b. Inspection Upon Receipt

  • Clients must inspect orders upon delivery and report any issues to the carrier and Rapture Fine Wines within 48 hours of receipt.
  • Failure to report issues within this timeframe may limit recourse for claims.

6. Limitation of Liability

Our liability is strictly limited to the value of the wine as it leaves our Hong Kong warehouse. We are not responsible for consequential damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of enjoyment.
  • Business losses.
  • Additional shipping costs incurred by the client.

9. Governing Laws

These terms are governed by the laws of Hong Kong. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hong Kong.
